Openlands Project Sites are sites that have been protected in the Nippersink Watershed since the establishment of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge through the work of Openlands. Openlands has worked here in partnership with Ducks Unlimited, Friends of Hackmatack, McHenry County Conservation District, The Land Conservancy of McHenry County, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
